Another Shark Summer?
When will Americans realize that sharks prefer meat to seaweed? The media has blown this way out of proportion. I guess it's a natural progression from the Aruban case, Tom Cruise selling crazy, the Michael Jackson trial and anything else that could lead us to believe there is a world beyond the US.

I, for one, am extremely glad that the media is focusing on these stories. Some people may call them "frivolous", but not me. Thanks to the tidal wave of stories about people being attacked by under water predators, how one movie star proposed to another and how another one divorced another, I can now sleep in peace knowing that the world is safer because we captured Saddam Hussein, the mastermind behind the September 11th attacks. And thanks to the good work of congress, Terri Schaivo died in peace instead of being murdered by her communist exhusband. And the theory of evolution will be taught along side the equally as valid theory of creationism. God bless America! God bless every one of us (except the gays).

Wow, I wanted to post "No Comment" but that didn't work.
Are you kidding me? I can remember hosting a foreign exchange student when we were both nine and the second comment that she made (the first being "LOOK AT ALL OF THE FAT PEOPLE!) was "Why do you show your LOCAL news first?" Travelling abroad, it became quite apparent in later years that world news dominated followed by a quick local run-down.
There's lots of comments I'm sure LOTS of us would like to post, but let's first talk about God and "Gays", Saddam Hussein, Terri Schaivo's Ex-Husband, and evolutionists. I'm not usually one to quote scripture, BUT:
May I offer:
Love your neighbor as yoursef (Matthew 22: 34-30)
And let's talk about who our neighbors are: (John 4: 19-21 speaking of the Samaritans) Samaritans were the result of mixed marriages from Jews and Pagan Idoleters. If Jesus lived in the 21st century, this story could be translated as right-wing religious ignoring a rape victim in the gutter when FINALLY a gay half-Christian, half-Muslim passerby came to their aid.
I thought that the whole idea of Christianity was that Jesus died for sinners and that whoever found Christ would live. I know plenty of child molesters, wife beaters, drug addicts, alcoholics, gamblers and adulterers who keep the sabbath holy.
If Jesus died for all of them, why didn't he die for "The Gays"?
Animals are our friends. Humans included.

You know, I have seen a few stories come and go about shark attacks, or mountain lions eating joggers in the Phoenix Mountain Preserve, and so on. And I think, maybe that is evolution at work... thinning the herd, so to speak, of those who a) can't swim faster than a shark; or b) are stupid enough to go jogging through a mountain lion's pantry.
Okay, I'm kidding. I know polyester gives mountain lions terrible indigestion.

Sorry I just got back to this now. Perhaps no one will read the old stuff, but I was kidding. It's good to see that some aren't as jaded and cynical as I am though. Maybe I should reel in the sarcasm a little...
