Fat chance
Hagel mentioning that Bush's impeachment is a possibility is a step in the right direction for a Republican senator. Unfortunately impeachment is not going to happen any time soon. The reality is that despite the continuing civil war in Iraq, the justice department scandal and growing public discontent, the wheels of congress turn slowly. On Meet the Press this morning Arlen Specter indicated that if the administration goes to court to fight subpoenas then it could be 2 years before a decision is reached on whether Rove et al should testify. By that time, Bush will be back to sipping Margarita's and doing lines of coke in Crawford.

The only way they'll get rid of Bush will be if they catch him in the act. Until then I most seriously doubt he will be impeached.
But don't worry so much about it. He won't win the next election.
Hi Mochi,
I still have yet to find a coherent and legally sound basis for impeachment of President Bush. I have asked many to articulate the grounds, but none seem to be able to. So far I get a few inarticulate mumblings about "illegal wars" or "misleading congress", etc., but nothing that can be substantiated. I would LOVE to see impeachment hearings, but believe the reason we won't is because there has been no impeachable offense. The Democrats know this, even though their constituents don't.

Lets face it, it has been a horrible presidency for so many reasons, and it has fractured the Republican party. Many of them are fed up with Bush, but of course theyre no fans of Democrats either.
And even if more details about the shady war planning come forth that could result in a lot more trouble, I have always felt that a lot of that blame lies more with Dick Cheney than George Bush. And as much as I do disapprove of his presidency, I dont hesitate to show how strongly I feel that George Bush has way more of a conscience than Dick Cheney.
