Bush the comedian

Bush in reference to Karl Rove testifying in front of congress:
"We will not go along with a partisan fishing expedition aimed at honorable public servants."

Rove is a lot of things, an honorable public servant he is not. Maybe it was meant to be a joke. Just like "Brownie you're doing a hell of a job", while thousands of people were dieing at his feet.

Is it surprising that the public doesn't trust these guys when they won't testify under oath or allow a transcript of the proceedings? Do you think maybe they have something to hide? The arrogance is starting to turn to blind stupidity.

Hi Mochi,

Ralph Bristol had another take. I posted it at my site.

The rampant cronyism that's been going on under Bush since day one is pretty appalling. I don't know enough to say whether or not it's a crime, but I do think public hearings help air the laundry.

Gonzales almost certainly fired the judges because they weren't loyal enough to the regime. Legal or illegal? I don't know. Scary and un-American? Absolutely.

I see Jack. So like Bristol you believe that White House aides should be allowed to lie to Congress without consequences. If they have nothing to hide then why not testify under oath?

Either way it doesnt matter, they cant win. They are damned if they do and damned if they dont.

I think if Alberto Gonzalez didnt open his big mouth, this would not have gotten as out of hand. Probably still out of hand, but not as out of hand.

I seriously think we should overthrow the entire Congress, and imprison all of them*

No really, I do. These scumbags on both sides havent done anything for anyone, and all they do is bitch at each other. We have a series of the worst presidential candidates ever. Seriously, eff this, I am writing in Shaquille Oneal for president in 2008, because thats how much of a joke this has all become.

Mochi,

Ralph pointed out that this is basically a witch hunt and gave the reasoning behind why they shouldn't testify (Scooter Libby case--or for that matter look at President Clinton's case where he eventually was charged for perjury because of his testimony).

If you look at the Libby case, see what came out of that? Nothing. It was a witch hunt which resulted in a man being tried for perjury? What about the original issue.

This is the same scenario with either side playing a very predictable role.

We should be tired of this by now.

(I'm sorry, I don't mean to be rude--and am not particularly directing this at you, Mochi, but anyone who can't see through the Democrats to their motives on this one really hasn't been paying attention. I think the lust for Rove's blood is so pervasive today that the Democrats start salivating at every prospect. Karl Rove is to Democrats as Bin Laden is to Republicans)

Scooter Libby lied, he deserves to face consequences. If Rove did he deserves to face consequences too. If this was a Democratic administration you would be screaming for an investigation.
