Good versus evil

The November elections are clearly a referendum on whether Americans want to walk further down a path of unretractable chaos or attempt to pull the country back to a point through which there can be a semblance of stability. This administration and Congress has devastated US interests both locally and internationally. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the economic effects of Hurricane Katrina and 9/11 coupled with tax cuts and massive over-spending have left this country weak and vulnerable.

Republicans are claiming they are keeping Americans safe. Instead tax payer dollars are being used to fund terrorist havens created by this government's incompetence. The current Taliban resurgence in Afghanistan funded by the production of opium is only possible because an army stretched thin is dying to protect a Shiite fundamentalist government in Iraq. While billions of dollars in aid were given to ensure Israel could stockpile cluster bombs to drop on Lebanon, a democratically elected government in Lebanon was given little money and was left to be devoured by an increasingly popular Hezbollah. Safe? I don't think so.

Now with America so focused on a war that can never be won, we are paralyzed to participate in conflicts that require the leadership of a country worthy of being called the "leader of the free world". In Darfur we are moving at a snails pace to intervene in a genocide that has killed hundreds of thousands and displaced millions of people. The notion that Americans should "stay the course" and work towards winning the "War on Terror" would be funny if it wasn't costing so much in terms of lives and resources. When are people going to realize that Bush has as much chance of winning the War on Terror as a Miss America contestant has of achieving world peace? Winning hearts and minds will keep America safe, that's not something that will ever happen on a battlefield. In November Americans should cast their vote against war mongering politicians, irrespective of their party affiliation. They should vote for good versus evil.

Bravo. Truer words have never been spoken. We need to win the hearts and minds of the world. It's no easy task, but it's the only realistic way to work toward peace.

I am just excited to see what 3d party candidate will emerge in 08 and who will he take votes from? Ross Perot, who is the man, had his biggest impact in 92, and Darth Nader in 2000. I hypothesize that with the emergence of Ross Perot, the greatest presidential candidate ever, there will be a pattern every 8 years like this.

But as far 2006, it looks like things are shifting toward Democrats- and who knows what that means. Rick Santorum is struggling in PA- and I'd love to see him go he is obnoxious. George Allen could be in trouble because he made a racist slur obviously, that has hurt him- and he forgot that he was Jewish. Ted Kennedy should lose for his role in the murder of Marilyn Monroe (I watch 48 Hours), but he wont. Mike DeWine from Ohio, who I do not know the first thing about, looks like he is in tough shape.

This is a good website I found:

I also hereby endorse Christy Mihos for Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.*

AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WE CANNOT ELECT DEVAL PATRICK, GOD SAVE US ALL FROM THIS MAN PLEASE! AND HE IS RUNNING AWAY WITH THIS ELECTION BECAUSE KERRY HEALEY IS A CLUELESS HACK RUNNING ON HER HUSBAND'S FORTUNE. GOD PLEASE SAVE THE COMMONWEALTH- I WOULD GIVE BACK THE RED SOX WORLD SERIES (NONE OF OUR SUPERBOWLS THOUGH) IF YOU WOULD JUST HAVE DEVAL WITHDRAW. PLEASE!

Show you care about the Commonwealth. Vote Christy.* www.christy2006.com

Just peruse that brilliant platform

*This is not an official Neolibs endorsement. This isnt even my blog. But seriously, Mochi, for the love of God, when you give your endorsement, do not endorse Deval, please!
