10 things I'd like from Santa

1) The resignation of Alaskan Senator Ted Stevens for pushing through the "bridge to nowhere" funding and trying to tie drilling in ANWR to national security
2) The defeat of Alito's nomination for the Supreme Court
3) The exposure of a gay love triangle involving Cheney, Rumsfeld and Bill O'Reilly
4) Fox News announcing that they will no longer use the slogan "fair and balanced" and will instead adopt a more appropriate mantra "bigoted and one-sided"
5) The revocation of Bill Frist's license to practice medicine for his video diagnosis of Terri Schiavo
6) Joseph Lieberman comes out of the closet and admits to being a Republican
7) A book written by Scott McClellan outlining how to lie to the press corp while keeping a straight face
8) Universal health care
9) A flat tax
10) The impeachment of George W Bush, for illegally spying on Americans

Sitting on Santa's lap these were the first 10 things that came into my head...

10 Things Revised, by Jack:

1. The resignation of Alaskan Senator Ted Stevens for being one of the largest pork barrel spenders of all time. With Robert Byrd and Ted Kennedy right behind.

2. The objective review of Alito by a fair, impartial and non-partisan committee and senate.

3. The exposure of the true homophobics--the left! :) ha!

4. The extinction of the MSM and its inability to report anything but the ACLU's and Communist Party's talking points.

5. For people to remember Terri Shiavo at this time of year as what she was subjected to was far worse than anything done at Gitmo or Abu Ghraib.

6. Joseph Lieberman to finally stand on principle, not politics.

7. With Introduction and Forward by Joe Lockhart.

8. Universal childcare, Universal pet sitting, Universal everything. Imagine all the people, livin' for today...oo..ooo

9. Which would be approximately 80% in order to pay for above.

10. For the left's desire for impeachment of George Bush for at least SOMETHING! Maybe we can get him for illegal MP3 downloads.

1. Agreed, yes. I doubt hes the only one though. Why is Alaska a state anyway? Can we just give it to Canada? Sorry, just asking, no offense to anyone. To be fair, no one likes Massachusetts either.
2. True. But a fair, impartial, non-partisan committee is about as real as the Black guy who shot Charles Stewart's wife (if you dont know about this, just Google "Charles Stewart murder" and click the "I feel Lucky" button).
3. I dont get that one. There are homophobes everywhere though.
4. I dont get that one.
5. I really dont agree with that statement. Sure it was a disgusting matter, but at least she wasnt awake for it. Id rather be sleeping and used by political opportunists than be naked, beaten, humiliated and have pictures taken of me with a leash around me. Culturally speaking, I cant think of anything more humiliating for them- or for us.
6. Agreed. Him, and every single one of the other senators.
7. That would be funny wouldnt it?
8. Except Universal Super Bowls. That is the sole property of God's Team, the New England Patriots and the sage prophet Bill Belichick. Does anyone thing that pansy Peyton Manning and his sissy, cant-take-a-hit-at-the-lineofscrimmage-without-excessively-bitching-to-every-media-outlet-that-will-put-a-mic-in-their-faces teammates will actually win it all?
9. No one likes a cry baby. Especially when your team runs their mouths and gets their asses handed to them (over and over again)
9a. Can you tell I hate the Indianapolis Colts more than anything and wish them nothing but doom, misery, and failure?
9b. No, seriously, I really do.
10. I would get rid of Dick Cheney before George Bush. Still trying to figure out how any principled Republican could ever have voted for a ticket with such a deceitful, treasonous coward. (see, deferments, Vietnam and quotes that went along with them and overzealously pushing for war)
10a. I am certainly not implying that they should have voted for Gore/Lieberman or Kerry/Edwards.

I agree with Jack that judgment and name-calling is not fair, and unnecessary. But Dick Cheney is still the exception to me.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and for the re-emergence of democracy in America, good-standing in the world.

Considering this persons initial asumption is wrong:

"I have assumed that the NSA intercepts electronic messages (phone calls and emails); that when the agency learns of a foreign cell phone or email address that is being used by a terrorist, it inputs that phone number or address into its surveillance system and is then able to intercept all incoming and outgoing communications; that the intent of the program is to intercept only international communications"

I don't see a point in reading on. How is a quaker meeting related to international terrorism?

Uh, you have a link showing its wrong? Because everything I've seen reported shows that this is assumption is valid.

Perhaps if you'd read the whole thing you would be enlightened. As for terrorism and the Quakers, I think you posted that comment on the wrong thread. The Quakers have nothing to do with wiretaps, that issue has to do with the DoD collecting information on groups that show up at its facilities to protest recruiting.

Hopefully you'll read the rest of this NY Times piece:

The president has the constitutional authority to acquire foreign intelligence without a warrant or any other type of judicial blessing. The courts have acknowledged this authority, and numerous administrations, both Republican and Democrat, have espoused the same view. The purpose here is not to detect crime, or to build criminal prosecutions - areas where the Fourth Amendment's warrant requirements are applicable - but to identify and prevent armed attacks on American interests at home and abroad.

Jack, if you can, I'd like some color on your #3. Why are the left "the true homophobics"?

Thanks

Hi Smorg!

I was just joking about Mochi's comment: "The exposure of a gay love triangle involving Cheney, Rumsfeld and Bill O'Reilly".

Nothing at all serious about the comment :)
