Boycott O'Reilly
So George Bush is on his "fence mending" tour of Europe. Every time I hear that phrase, I think about Will Ferrell imitating George Bush on the ranch. George Bush understands that without Europe it's going to be difficult to accomplish anything anywhere, so why does Bill O'Reilly still need to be such a moron? Check out his offerings on his BillOReilly.com online store. This guy thinks the ACLU is a supporter of terrorists so I'm not surprised, but still it's about time he got with the agenda. Boycotting France is a politically bad idea and anyway they make great cheese.

I have never been a big fan of boycott campaings because they end up indirectly hurting people who don't deserve to be hurt. Say you boycott Target becuase you dislike France. What about all of the Americans who work for Target? I also think that O'reilly is an idiot. He is also a bad interviewer. What can I say. The guy sucks!
Hi Mochi,
Actually boycotting France isn't a big deal. The frogs have always fancied themselves better than the rest of the world. Also, their entire economy is the size of South Carolina and North Carolina's combined...
Not a big deal...
Oh, and in regards to Glen Dean's comment:
Why do you suppose O'Reilly makes $50 mill a year and has the highest ratings in the cable industry? Because he's a bad interviewer?
I bet you're looking forward to the 2 million hits a day on your blog...
Jack, money and ratings don't necessarily indicate quality. Springer can make a similar boast.
But hey, thanks for offerng statistics to prove that the "liberal media" thing is just a myth :)
P.S. -- your statements above about the french are bigoted and reveal your true nature.
Jack, Howard Stern probably makes more than that and he also sucks and is a bad interviewer. Oprah makes more than that and she also sucks. What is your point.
Back to O'reilly. I know all you guys consider him to represent conservatives, but I do not know any conservative that likes him (except my mother-in-law, and she is crazy). He is not a true believer and you can tell by the way he puts down conservative talk radio. I think he just tries to be controversial and act like a big shot. I saw him debate Paul Krugman on Russerts show and I saw him debate Michael Moore during the Republican convention and he was an embarrassment to all conservatives. He did not nail them like I wanted him too. He just pointed his finger and acted like a big shot. He never mentioned any of the anti-America comments that Moore has made abroad. I could go on and on but just let me finish by reiterating that he is not a real conservative.

Glen Dean, since you and I frequently debate, please keep what you said above about O'Reilly in mind when I cite one of your statements as being a generalization. You state that O'Reilly is not a real conservative, but a case could be made (not necessarily by me) that his widespread popularity among the right indicates that he represents conservative values. I ask you to please consider that next time you hear a media spokesperson, blogger, or whoever make a statement that is worthy of criticism... don't write that "liberals all think that." If there are individual differences and values on your side, then ours deserve recognition, too.
Okay, whatever. But I do not see this widespread popularity on the right for O'reily.
