Clinton McCain
Hillary and John will be duking it out over Iraq on Meet the Press this morning. Or will they? I have a feeling they are going to find themselves aligned on most of the issues. That would be an interesting 2008 ticket. Clinton McCain. John would play the same role as Bush's Dick (sorry).
Other rumors circulating are that Rice will take over from Cheney as VP. I heard, from someone who occasionally eats breakfast with the guy, that Romney (MA Governor) has also been approached about the same job. Now there are two complete opposites. A woman of color and a mormon white guy. I wonder who Bush is more likely to choose...

Haveing not done any homework yet on the subject, I hesitate to think that Hillary is a good choice for the democrats. She carries a lot of baggage and is too vulnerable to attack. It doesn't take much to successfully smear a democrat into unelectibility, whether the accusations are true or not (ala' the swift boat vets). And, while nothing has ever been proven about whitewater, her candidacy would make it the central theme.
The republicans rely almost exclusively on character assasination. Regardless that their own candidates cannot meet the criteria they demand of the democrats, their propaganda machine is unrivaled at turning an election into the Jerry Springer show. Therefore, unfortunately, the democrats are forced to choose a candidate who is both telegenic and possessed of an immaculate history.
I guess that's one reason why it is hard to beat them.
I'm not yet decided whether a Clinton bid for Presidency would be a bad thing. It would be a brutal campaign. I think we need that.
Do any of you realize the force of the blow our nation would take if Hillary Clinton was the next president? For one thing, her husband was only successful because he reaped the benefits of the Bush, sr. administration. Likewise, the beginning of Bush, jr's presidency in 2000 was terrible because of the lasting effects of Clinton's presidency. Bush has done such wonderful things for this country and I would hate to see them all destroyed by Hillary.
