Pre-election spin

Apparently one man in Iraq has been responsible for 75% of car bombings since March 2003. Call me cynical but I just don't buy that. Allawi's regime shares one commonality with Hussein's. They are both able to distort the truth.

The interim government released the following, "Abu Omar al-Kurdi has claimed responsibility for about 32 vehicle-born improvised explosive device attacks that resulted in the deaths of hundreds of innocent Iraqis."

Thaer al-Naqib, a government spokesman added, "Abu Omar al-Kurdi confessed to building approximately 75 percent of the car bombs used in attacks in Baghdad since March 2003."

I'm no math genius but AP reported January 24 that there have been at least 181 car bombings in Baghdad since June 28, 2004. That's about 18% and excludes a whole year! Another example of blind journalism.
